I use and airhawk pad on mine and find it does raise me up enough to notice the difference in air coming over the windhield. It does also solve the TB (tired buns) problem. The new ones come with a cover that alllows tieing it to the orginal seat and it is portable to another ride in the future. Also the 2002 model seats seem softer and some wider, it may be mostly optical due to the cross pleat pattern ins the seat covering. Seemed more comfortable when I sat on one at the Seattle International cycle show. Also check upholostery shops for left over jobs. I am waiting on a response from the local shop where I had another bike seat cover made. They had a big old seat gathering dust. It had been there over a year but he was going to try and check with the owner before he sells it to me. Small town stuff, deal was made and it is good until actually defaulted on. Any big city shop I would have walked out the door with both seats had the price been right. Nice part of living in a small town, no deposits on most special orders or jobs. Just your word you will pay for it.
